Position Summary

The Senior Patient Care Specialist will work on various research studies performing bone mineral density scans using a Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry ( DXA ) machine in the Women’s Health Research Center.

Duties include:
  • Performing scans on research study participants, analyzing, and maintaining data records.
  • Performing quality control scans periodically and maintain maintenance of the equipment.
Training on the DXA equipment will be provided.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree from an approved school of Radiologic Technology is required; NYS License and Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology ( ARRT ).
  • 4 years progressive experience required, excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • The education and experience requirements described in this standard may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Part-time hourly position (initially 8 hours per week) with possible increased hours as needed for research projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Hologic DXA system and research experience preferred.
Physical Demands

Salary Range
$35 - $40 per hour
