The Department of Cultural and Creative Arts aims to be one of the premier arts education providers in the region and is committed to sustaining a creative and dynamic learning environment in Music, Visual Arts and other art-related disciplines that promotes and supports high standards of professionalism in teaching, learning, research and knowledge transfer.  It aims to nurture skilled, knowledgeable and caring graduates and empower them to achieve academic and artistic excellence in transformative roles as innovative educators, enterprising community-based arts practitioners, creative thinkers and cultural leaders in the 21st Century.  The Department is looking for academic staff with expertise in art education.  
 
The appointee will participate in activities related to teaching, research, knowledge transfer and community service.  He/She should contribute to the Department’s teaching, project supervision, field experience supervision, programme and curriculum development, and programme and course management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and take up functional posts.  He/She should be an active researcher with a remarkable publication list and able to obtain research/project funding and produce internationally recognized research output. 
 
Applicants must possess a relevant doctoral degree and a strong track record in research and teaching experience. They should be fluent in English and possess good knowledge of Cantonese and/or Mandarin Chinese and the art educational context of Hong Kong and/or China. 
 
Applicants for Associate Professor should possess evidence of strong research output and publication in relevant field(s) and a strong research track record and impact.  Applicants for Assistant Professor should possess evidence of scholarship, research, and publications in the relevant field(s), evidence of plans for future development and capacity to work with schools and art education professionals.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.  Fringe benefits include contract-end gratuity, leave, medical and dental benefits, and where applicable, housing benefits.
