Description
The Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy (School) at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for an assistant professor, tenure-track position beginning Fall 2024. This position is contingent upon state funding. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. or DBA in accounting or business administration before August 2024. Relevant professional accounting experience and/or professional certification are desirable.


Qualifications
Applicants should possess strong research interest and capability as evidenced by an appropriate history of, or potential for, professional growth activity. This will include regular publication in quality, refereed journals and professional conference participation as well as demonstration of an innovative and active research agenda. Candidates must engage in teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in the areas of auditing and/or accounting information systems. In addition, candidates will also be expected to demonstrate an ability to interact effectively with members of the business and research community.

The SDSU Fowler College of Business is among the nation’s oldest and largest AACSB accredited business schools. Its accomplished faculty and highly ranked academic programs provide an exceptional foundation for an institution with significant regional, national and international impact. The Fowler College of Business enrolls approximately 7,000 undergraduate and about 450 graduate students.

The Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy is AACSB Accounting accredited with approximately 800 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students. The School’s academic programs are a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) - Accounting Major, Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA), and a combined 4 1 degree program (BMACC). The School’s faculty includes 15 tenure-track faculty as well as several full- and part-time lecturers. Support for research includes access to databases (e.g., WRDS), funding for approved projects through grant programs, graduate student assistants, and a research budget for conference travel and items/data supporting research.

The anticipated salary for an assistant professor position is $5,405 - $11,994 academic year full- time monthly salary. This amount will vary according to candidate rank, experience, and market considerations specific to the scholarly discipline. Salary represents one component of a job offer that will also include a full benefits package, moving expenses, and start-up support.
