Description
The Graduate School of Education and Counseling at Lewis & Clark College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor in School Counseling beginning Fall 2024. Housed within the Teaching, School Counseling, and Leadership Studies Department, the School Counseling program at Lewis & Clark is a leader in the field of school counselor preparation. We help graduate students create affirming spaces and equity focused school systems for K-12 students and their communities.

Department programs offer environments where students, faculty, and staff are prepared to be open to and challenged with new perspectives, as a constructive foundation for learning and growth. We apply collaborative and action-oriented approaches designed to disrupt the status quo and create fairness in opportunities and outcomes for minoritized students, families, and communities across the K-20 spectrum.

The School Counseling program emphasizes a democratic, systemic approach to school counseling that gives candidates the skills to engage all students, especially those who are marginalized or experience obstacles to thriving in school, and to involve all members of the school community—parents, educators, school-based staff, administrators, and peers—in ensuring student success.

The School Counseling faculty and staff are committed to preparing candidates to transform P-20 systems and promote the academic, emotional, and social success of each student through socially just approaches to counseling and leadership.
