Job Description

The Donor Growth Strategist provides assistance in spearheading the Hokie Club’s member acquisition and growth strategies across all online and offline fundraising channels. They will assist in and help manage sport-specific fundraising. They will be responsible for scaling our donor base efficiently, building a pipeline of prospects, and managing return on investment through a variety of key projects. This position will report to the Assistant Athletics Director for Fundraising Strategy while collaborating with Hokie Club and advancement team members. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented problem solver and can effectively leverage internal resources while also cross-collaborating with all areas of the university.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications or a related field.

- Dedicated experience in a fundraising, sales, and/or marketing role.

- Experience collaborating with other business verticals, while also being able to work independently to meet goals.

- Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs. Ability to learn on the fly and willing to self-educate when learning new skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Willing to challenge the status quo while balancing traditional practices.

- Demonstrated ability to develop year-round campaigns from start to finish in an organized and calculated manner.

- Knowledge of using and/or optimizing the use of technology platforms (social channels, SalesForce, email, etc.) for marketing, communications, data reporting, and analysis.
