Position Title
Assistant Registrar for User Support & Training
Overview
Review and authorize requests for access to the student information system, reporting tools, and provide one-on-one and group training along with instructional tutorials and documentation.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and administer student module training for new and current employees, as well as training on other administrative tools developed for faculty. Provide training on CyberFriar for administrators, faculty, and students. Review and authorize requests for access to academic information for faculty, staff, students, administrators, department chairs, and program directors across the administrative systems (CyberFriar, Banner, reporting tools, and workflow).
- Assist the Associate Registrar in the creation and maintenance of the master course schedule and provide registration support. Confer with faculty and administrators regarding allocations, course requirements, and pre-requisites. Configure the student system as it relates to course scheduling, enrollment, and registration. Provide registration support to students and faculty. Process pre-registrations, registrations (including over-enrollments), and manage course enrollments.
- Serve as the campus administrator and manage the catalog management software. Produce the annual online Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs, initiate ‘formal call’ for updates from academic and administrative units and ensure its accuracy, update Acalog catalogs and Banner with approvals from the President and the Faculty Senate. Follow established guidelines and cross-reference to ensure accuracy with course descriptions, cross-listings, core approvals, etc.; export all online content, and produce PDF version for end users for historical reference; proofread, edit, and layout as needed; and communicate with campus community annually regarding updated live versions.
- Process ad-hoc requests for academic classroom space. Train office staff on the use of 25Live.
- Assume lead responsibility for department internal and external websites.
- Serve as the liaison with Athletics Department for the on-going certification of the academic eligibility of student-athletes. Code student athletes in the student information system, analyze each student-athlete’s transcript and degree audit for completion of Certification of Academic Eligibility for Intercollegiate Athletics form, provide access to degree audits and transcripts for all current student-athletes to the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and the Academic Coordinator for Student Athletes, and work in conjunction with them to determine residency requirements for college student athlete transfers.
- Perform all other duties as may be required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required. Master’s preferred.
- Four to five years’ experience in higher education, preferably in a registrar’s office or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent presentation and written skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to represent the office and the College in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with faculty, staff, administrators, and students.
- Must exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
