We are seeking aTechnical Support
Analyst. Under general supervision, provide in person
technical support for a variety of personal computer and
file-server systems in a research environment, and assist customers
with the use of technology applications, products, and services for
research data collection and analysis.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform software updates and preventive maintenance on computers, printers, and similar technology devices used in research protocols.
- Configure and install new personal-computer hardware and software for these protocols.
- Maintain routine server backups of research data.
- Provide first-level support for a range of customer issues, including application questions, hardware setup, and equipment troubleshooting; and diagnose computer problems that may result from equipment malfunction, software incompatibilities, and/or customer misunderstanding.
- Archive research data files from computers that are returned to stock, and prepare those computers for secure storage or disposal.
- Assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Two years of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- Critical thinking and reasoning
skills.
- Sound documentation
skills.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of college course work.
- Four years of related experience.
- Familiarity with FileMaker or similar relational-database solutions.
- Familiarity with file-server configuration and maintenance.
- Familiarity with AirWatch and/or SCCM monitoring systems.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to diagnose problems with and repair/upgrade operating systems and applications on Apple and Windows computers.
- Ability to work on multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester
