Adjunct Faculty - Nonprofit Law

Dordt University is currently seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Nonprofit Law (MPA 553) in the Master of Public Administration program. Course dates run from October 20 - December 19. Our institution uses the Canvas learning management system, and resources are available to help with planning.

The course is provides an overview of the law as it relates to the nonprofit sector, students will be given a foundation in a Christian legal perspective along with an overview of legal issues in several areas relevant to nonprofits. In each area, students will explore foundational concepts, emerging issues, and practical application to a chosen nonprofit organization. Areas of potential coverage include formation, governance, employment, operations, fundraising/donations, advocacy, partnerships, and taxation.

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, mature interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. A J.D. is preferred for this position. A master's degree and substantial experience in working with or teaching these subject matters is required.
