Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory

The School of Music at the University of North Carolina Greensboro invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory, beginning August 1, ,2023.

The candidate will teach courses in the undergraduate music theory and aural skills curriculum with additional offerings of topics that may cover global popular music, non-western harmony, and feminist music theory. The candidate may possibly teach graduate-level music theory courses as well.

Minimum qualifications: Master of Music degree, experience teaching music theory, and demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a team member at UNCG.

Preferred qualifications: PhD in Music Theory or equivalent professional experience and progressive viewpoint on teaching music theory in the 21st century.
