Assists the Director in the coordination of research administrative activities to ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Serves as team lead assigned to a specific team for a department, college, or unit.
- Supervises a team conducting research administrative activities, to include setting goals, performance appraisals, staff development, and cross-training.
- Oversees and reviews the proposal submission process to external funding sources and manages the process of cost center and notice of award creation, including modifications.
- Manages departmental outreach and customer service efforts including the timely response to questions and inquiries from the research community, seeking input from the Director as needed.
- Assists with the development and implementation of internal operating procedures, coordinates the work activities within their assigned team, and provides work direction as needed.
- Serve as a campus resource to interpret complex Federal and State regulations, sponsor guidelines, and Institutional policy related to proposal and award management activities for faculty and the research community.
- Provide backup to team members and across teams, as needed, to meet overall daily operational needs.
- Assists with development, modification, and instruction of research compliance training for faculty and staff.
- Assists with internal and external audits pertaining to the activities of Contracts and Grants.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :
Bachelors and 7 years experience
Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.Certification/Licensing: None.
