About the Opportunity

The Khoury College of Computer Sciences is seeking a full-time associate director of online programs and instructional design to coordinate the development and maintenance of teaching and learning resources for online programs.

Responsibilities:

This is a two-part position. Primary duties will include helping professors develop and design courses for online delivery as an educational technology specialist and instructional designer for the college.

A successful candidate is highly organized, a good communicator, able to coordinate resources and manage multiple design project schedules. The successful candidate will be able to encourage adoption of latest evidence-based practices to promote successful online delivery of course work for students. The successful candidate will coordinate distributed resources, keep resources focused on the delivery schedule, and ensure the creation, development, and delivery of high-quality content that improves the URM student experience.

Additional duties will be working with select courses each semester coaching students on course content, guiding recitations, and keeping labs and assignments updated. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science and can adapt to guide a variety of course types. Courses will range from some select graduate courses, to predominately Align online bridge courses which are intensive courses covering the undergraduate experience.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Education, or a closely related field, or a Master's degree focusing on Educational Technology or Instructional Design with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field is required. Prior work experience, preferably in a higher education setting, is desirable. Individual must have strong organizational and communication skills, including writing skills. Must be able to coordinate teams for planning and execution of high-quality academic products. Must have extensive familiarity with higher education learning environments including extensive knowledge of Canvas, some video editing, and other educational technology tools, challenges and affordances of online learning, and experience with URM challenges in higher education.

The expected hiring range for this position is USD $63,940 to USD $99,110, based upon the position's scope and responsibilities.
