Research Associate I
Location: Moscow

Position Summary:
Performs research activities and analysis; implements and evaluates research procedures and data. Records observations and measurements, then reports results. Responsible for analyzing and preparing results for publication. Works under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude. May supervise junior research personnel.
Duties may include:
- Providing technical support in planning and/or designing of scientific projects, studies, or applications
- Planning and conducting research and analysis of scientific data
- Interpreting test results and comparing them with determined standards and limits
- Identifying and evaluating scientific samples and determining the need for further testing
- Developing recommendations and/or providing solutions, standards, and protocols to a wide range of difficult problems
- Planning, designing, developing, monitoring, and/or evaluating portions of a scientific project, study, or application
- Providing scientific evaluations/assessments
- Researching, implementing, standardizing, and evaluating new procedures
- Maintaining detailed records of results and preparing written reports acceptable to the Principal Investigator and funding agencies
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food science, chemistry, biology, physiology, animal science, dairy science or veterinary science
- Two years of post-bachelors research experience related to the domain of this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nutrition, food science, chemistry, biology, physiology, animal science, dairy science, veterinary science, or closely related scientific degree.
- Experience with organizational and time management skills.
- Experience keeping research data records and summarizing research data.
- Experience developing and delivering scientific presentations.
- Experience with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience having a strong work ethic
- Experience conducting controlled experiments.
- Experience managing data to the final report form, either abstract or manuscript.
- Willingness and ability to work with human subjects and research animals.
- Willingness and ability to coordinate duties among more than one supervisor.
- Experience conducting human studies.
- Experience conducting animal studies.
- Experience with basic competence in statistical approaches.
- Experience writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move heavy materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
- May be required to work with toxic, volatile, and corrosive chemicals and/or carcinogenic substances.
- May be required to work in adverse environmental conditions.
