The Department of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, University of Houston has a postdoctoral research associate position immediately available. Applicants for postdoctoral positions must have a PhD or equivalent degree and proven skills and experience in cardiovascular and molecular research or animal models. The major focus of our research projects is on the roles of lysosome dysfunction, reprograming/rejuvenation, or inflammasome and their epigenetic regulations in vascular cells. Several animal and cell model systems including conditional gene knockouts will be used in these research projects, and many state-of-the-art techniques are available such as real time PCR, confocal microscopy, stem cells technology, in vivo or in vitro molecular imaging, ultrasound imaging, electron spin resonance, volume pressure sensing measurements of cardiovascular function in rodents. The College of Pharmacy at UH has a group of outstanding scientists in cardiovascular research, especially in cardiovascular cell signaling and mechanism of hypertension and heart diseases. Successful applicants will have opportunity to work with them and be encouraged to develop their independent career in this research field.
