Position Title
TRIO Upward Bound Math and Science Program Assistant
The Opportunity
Program Assistants play a critical role in the TRIO Upward Bound Math and Science summer program. The six-week summer program is an intensive, required program service designed to simulate a college-going experience and is generally scheduled in June-July each year. Program Assistants spend their time supporting all elements of the summer program, including acting as a Teacher Assistant during classes, supporting with group management, mentoring and being a role model for program participants, etc. The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Part-time availability can also be accommodated. During the week of June 25, Program Assistants have the option to support in the residence halls during the residential component of the program. In addition, Program Assistants will be required to attend a staff meeting every Tuesday morning during the program.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing in college
- Sensitivity to challenges faced by students from low-income, first-generation, minority and diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 6 months experience working directly with TRIO program
- One-year experience working with at-risk students
- STEM major
- Previous tutoring experience
- Bilingual – Spanish and English

Pay Range
$15.31/hour as established by the TRIO grant
