Position Announcement

Responsible for the efficient and effective organization and operation of all functions of the billing, collection, deposit, disbursement, and record maintenance of student and other related monies, including oversight of the Cashier's Office. Responsibilities
  • Perform the billing, collection, deposit, disbursement and record maintenance of tuition and fees and other University and student related funds.
  • Assist in the establishment of policies and procedures regarding the University revenues and cash handling activities. Facilitate campus trainings regarding said policies and procedures as directed.
  • Maintain accurate student financial records to facilitate information flow and coordination between the Business Services Office and other offices throughout the University.
  • Assist in the preparation of reconciliations and reports of the Cashier's Office records to ensure complete and accurate accounting records of billings, receipts, and outstanding receivables.
  • Oversee reconciliation and execution of the refund process.
  • Interact regularly with students or other applicable parties (Accounting, Financial Aid, Registration, etc.) to resolve various problems or concerns relating to student accounts.
  • Process write-offs as needed.
  • Prepare reports and analyses as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Two years of related experience required; experience working within Higher Education preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain financial records, budgets, etc.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and support-oriented skills in working with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be approachable, friendly, and welcoming.
  • Ability to concentrate on several detailed projects in a fast-paced office environment, remaining proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong computer skills including database, spreadsheet, internet, and email.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with an attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of general accounting and finance, state and federal regulations, and University finance policies.
Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time professional staff (overtime-exempt) position. Annual salary of $77,000+ depending on qualifications & experience. Desired start date of July 2023.
