Overview
The Network Services Technician II is a member of the team responsible for providing reliable network services to the University community. This role is a vital contributor to network infrastructure deployment projects and network maintenance across campus. Working closely with members of tier 2 and tier 3 engineering teams, the technician installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots all LAN/WAN, wireless, and other service impacting issues to ensure efficient network functionality. The technician also contributes to all network projects. In addition, the network services technician serves as a knowledge expert on fiber, cat5, Cat6 and coax media and is responsible for installing and maintaining the University cable infrastructure. The technician will plan and complete all stages of the cable installation life cycle, including assessment, materials selection, infrastructure design, performance and quality assurance, and updating the master database.
