JOB SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of Advising and Coaching is responsible for advising 1-2 governing councils and its member organizations. This position partners closely with faculty/staff, advisors of fraternities and sororities, as well as inter/national membership organizations for the betterment of the Fraternity and Sorority community. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

35% - Essential - Council Advising: Serves as the primary adviser for up to two fraternity/sorority governing councils (College Panhellenic Association, Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council). Conducts one on one meetings with council officers. Attends council executive officer and general body meetings. Oversees council recruitment/Intake processes. Attends fraternity and sorority events.

35% - Essential - Chapter Coaching: Facilitates student mentor relationships among students who affiliate with Greek letter organizations. Provides operational support and advice to chapter executive committees and individual chapter members. Conducts one on one meetings with chapter officers as prescribed by the FSL coaching model. Communicates frequently with chapter advisors, headquarters staff and/or regional advisors/officers. Present at fraternity and sorority chapter meetings on behalf of Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

10% - Essential - Program Oversight: Oversees strategic decision making for council areas. Provides counsel on Federal State, and local laws related to fraternity and sorority matters to students, faculty and staff. Trains stakeholders regarding organizational and University policies and procedures, including risk management, hazing and alcohol. Advises fraternities and sororities going through the University conduct process. Administers processes and maintains fraternity and sorority records.

10% - Essential - Collaboration: Collaborates with the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life, university colleagues, and off-campus partners to create integrated, team-oriented services and programs. Serves on University and Division committees as assigned.

10% - Essential - Emergency Response: Provide support during emergency and crisis situations involving the fraternity and sorority community, including after business hours and on weekends.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree - and experience in student services programs.
Work Exp 1+ years
in Student Service Programs (ex. Academic Advising, Counseling, Academic Support Services, Disability Services, Student Affairs, etc.)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree - Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or Organizational Development
Work Exp 2+ years
in Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Organizations, Leadership Development. Membership in a fraternity or sorority is preferred.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ($ 35,360.00- $ 46,000.00)
