Job Summary
Counseling Services supports the mission of the University by contributing to students’ personal and intellectual growth. Counseling Services provides quality psychological services, including prevention, education, and treatment to currently enrolled students. Students are assisted in identifying and learning skills that will help them meet their educational and life goals as well as deal with personal adjustment and/or psychological problems. Counseling Services is committed to providing a safe and confidential space where all students can work on their personal growth and development. This position is Full-Time.

Essential Functions
This person will serve as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing outpatient mental health treatment to enrolled students. Responsibilities include providing short-term individual and couples psychotherapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, consultation, and outreach activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the requirements, have an area of expertise relative to college-aged populations such as: group psychotherapy; outreach; eating and body image issues; intercultural and diversity issues; men and masculinity; addiction; sexual and gender minorities; sports psychology/issues pertaining to college athletes.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to life, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling or social work from an accredited institution and/or Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program along with licensure or readiness to complete national examination requirements for licensure as a psychologist in the State of Illinois. Licensure must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Applicants must also have demonstrated experience in college counseling, advanced clinical skills, successful experience working with the full range of human diversity, and a commitment to Student Affairs campus involvement.
- Successful candidates will also have excellent oral and written skills.
