Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychological Sciences



The Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University (Houston, Texas) is now accepting applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin fall 2023. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field by the start of the appointment. This is a two-year appointment.

The successful applicant will teach four courses a year, split across the Fall and Spring semesters. We are seeking individuals to primarily teach courses in the area of graduate-level statistics and research methods such as meta-analysis, psychometrics, multilevel modeling, and structural equation modeling to name a few. The candidate may also be asked to teach other elective graduate courses in their area of specialization.

Salary for the position is $70,000 and moving expenses are not included with the position.

The Department of Psychological Sciences trains doctoral students in cognitive and affective neuroscience; health psychology; human factors/human-computer interaction (HF/HCI); and industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology. The Department also offers professional master’s programs in our HF/HCI and I/O programs.
