Dean of School of Culture and Creativity (Ref: SCC220901)

 

Job Description 

The School of Culture and Creativity offers a comprehensive, transformative and multidisciplinary approach to the studies of culture, media, design and creative industries. A range of programmes with a strong creative and practical focus is offered by the School of Culture and Creativity, including the Bachelor of Communication (Honours) in Animation and Interactive Media, the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Culture, Creativity and Management, the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Cinema and Television, the Bachelor of Communication (Hons) in Media Arts and Design, the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music Performance, Master of Arts in communication - Film TV & New Media Concentration, Master of Arts in communication - Interactive Media Studies Concentration.

 

The appointee should be a visionary leader and distinguished scholar with evidence of professional distinction that merits appointment at the rank of full professor, preferably in one or more of these fields: Media Arts and Design; Management in Arts and Cultural Industries; Cinema and Television; Animation and Interactive Media; Creative Arts; Art History; Musical Arts etc. She/he reports to the President/Provost/Vice-President (Academic) and is a key member of the Senior Management Team of the College, contributing to the advancement of UIC. The appointee is required to provide leadership for:

(1) execution of all school initiatives and strategic planning;

(2) facilitation of academic and administrative development by providing effective guidance in all aspects of the School’s academic programmes, research endeavors, and community outreach activities.

 

Job Requirement

The candidate should have a PhD degree with substantial managerial and leadership experience with broad vision and strategic foresight as well as a strong commitment to the promotion and implementation of liberal arts education. She/he should have distinguished record of accomplishment as a leader in higher education. It is highly preferred that the candidate possesses international working experience in higher education context.
