The IT Director for Enterprise Services and Support will provide technical and strategic leadership for IT support operations at Penn Carey Law, supporting over 60 full-time faculty, 100+ adjunct faculty, 100+ staff members, over 1000 students in a mixed Windows/Mac environment. Report to CIO. Oversee device and application support with a strong focus on customer service and operational efficiencies. Plan efforts; set goals and priorities; oversee day-to-day operations and projects; set policies, procedures, SLAs, and technical standards; critically analyze workflows, implement solutions, solve problems. Oversee endpoint management and deployment. Provide lifecycle planning, systems integration, security, training, and documentation for user devices. Oversee faculty IT equipment consultation and purchasing. Provide technical and managerial leadership. Supervise, develop, and mentor a team of five IT professionals and provide performance oversight. Serve as senior member of various cross-functional teams. In collaboration with senior IT leadership, participate in strategic planning. Keep up to date on current trends and innovations. Research and evaluate new and enhance existing technology services. Vacation may not be taken in September.
Job Description
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide technical and strategic leadership and planning for IT support. Oversee device and application support as well as technology onboarding/offboarding for all new faculty and staff. Plan efforts; set goals and priorities; oversee day-to-day operations and projects; set policies, procedures, SLAs, and technical standards; critically analyze workflows, implement solutions, solve problems.
- Oversee endpoint management, deployment, and administration for all Penn Carey Law devices. Provide lifecycle planning, systems integration, security, training, and documentation for user devices. Lead device deployment workflows and strategies in collaboration with the Operations team.
- Provide managerial leadership. Supervise, lead, develop, and mentor a team of IT professionals. Devise training/onboarding programs for new IT staff, assign/supervise projects, and conduct staff reviews. Serve as senior member of various cross-departmental teams.
- Oversee faculty IT equipment consultation and purchasing. Direct purchasing, deployment, and inventory efforts.
- Set strategy and keep up to date on current trends and innovations. Research and evaluate new and enhance existing technology services.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a technical area or technical training equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of advanced-level technical support experience.
- Proven experience overseeing IT support operations and providing technical and managerial leadership.
- Ability to resolve complex hardware and software issues. Experience identifying and creating policies and workflows to optimize services and address high impact problems.
- Ability to lead a team of highly competent IT professionals tasked with providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Strong mentorship and team building skills.
- Expert knowledge and experience configuring, deploying, securing, and administrating endpoints using Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and JAMF in an enterprise environment. Experience with Azure Functions, PowerShell, Azure Active Directory, and identity management.
- High level of technical acumen to support hardware, software, and other key functions. Advanced knowledge and training experience in critical applications including Microsoft 365 and Canvas Learning Management System. Ability to quickly learn and master new and emerging tools and technologies.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills required; ability to exercise judgment and diplomacy in all interactions; ability to work and communicate with users of varying levels of expertise required; excellent writing and communication skills; organizational skills and the ability to work on complex tasks and projects.
