Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Executive Director/Director of
Graduate Recruitment & Admissions (title to be determined based on experience) is responsible
for creating and executing sophisticated recruitment plans across a number of online, hybrid,
and on-site graduate programs that cater to both domestic and international students. The
successful candidate will be responsible for helping to shape marketing strategies, making
policy decisions related to application processing, and liaising with academic and student
support departments across campus in service of our enrollment goals. The Executive
Director/Director is responsible for the smooth and effective operation of the Office, including the
oversight of all administrative tasks and budgeting.
Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
● Leads the development and implementation of a strategic recruitment plan to attract
domestic and international students across a varied portfolio of graduate programs
● Hires, trains, and coaches a team of admissions professionals, setting benchmarks for
performance and evaluating their progress
● Works continually to optimize the CRM with an eye toward greater efficiency in
admissions and student onboarding, as well as creative marketing strategies
● Oversees the evaluation of candidates for admission and maintains admissions
standards as set by the faculty and administration
● Generates, reviews, and synthesizes data and reports for a wide variety of constituents;
adjusts strategies based on timely and meaningful data
● Regularly conducts environmental scans, identifies opportunities for new recruitment
tactics, and recommends options for new programs based on market demand
● Chairs relevant enrollment committees and action teams
Qualification Standards
- Graduation from an accredited college with a Master’s degree.
- 5-7 years of experience in enrollment management or an admissions environment, preferably with direct experience recruiting graduate students
- Experience managing staff and leading significant projects
- Availability to occasionally work outside of normal hours, evenings and/or weekends in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
- Graduation from an accredited college with a Master’s degree.
Experience
- Ability and willingness to perform both professional and technical/administrative/clerical tasks.
- Ability to appropriately use and demonstrate proficiency with standard office productivity software, tools, and University systems, such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite equivalents.
- Ability to efficiently organize and manage large amounts of data, information, and records; attention to detail; and well-organized.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at all levels of the organization. Strong written and communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships with various members of the organization.
- Ability to provide high-quality, strong customer-oriented services, including problem-solving orientation; strong listening skills; expertise in advising and consulting; history of coordinated work effort with extensive follow-through and follow-up; experience identifying customer needs; conflict resolution, and creation of user-friendly communications.
- Leadership and mentorship skills– including the ability to give direct and constructive feedback, proactive identification of issues and problem solving, and the thoughtful and strategic alignment of resources and opportunities– as evidenced through success in prior roles.

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- The person in this position needs to move about both inside the office and at other locations where interviews and meetings are conducted.
- Frequently operates a computer for extended periods of time.
- Frequently communicates with others over the phone and in person; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Regular access to a vehicle and the ability to travel, both during and outside of traditional working hours, for the purposes of graduate recruitment
- Ability to speak clearly and communicate proficiently in English.
