Minimal Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • 3 years of experience related to education, fiscal management or financial aid.
  • Minimum Education Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Preferred qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals who possess :
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience interpreting regulations and compliance requirements related to the Federal Student Aid Programs.
  • Working knowledge in accounting and/or financial aid cash management.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience collaborating with both internal and external colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Veterans Educational Benefits.
  • Familiarity with computerized systems.
  • Familiarity with Return to Title IV regulations.
  • Familiarity with MO State Aid programs
Work Hours

Normally scheduled 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

Compensation
The hiring range is $72,288-$78,794. A competitive benefit package is included.

Class Summary

Incumbent works in an administrative management role at the district level to develop, implement, and manage financial aid programs and fiscal management of those programs by providing key information, direction and recommendations for decision making.

Typical Essential Duties

· Supervises daily operations and financial aid services staff, to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained, ensuring employees are following policies and procedures; and making hiring, discipline, and termination recommendations.
· Assists in developing strategy, processes, and procedures for assigned programs, departments, or functional areas; and manages and participates in directing the implementation of internal operations for financial aid program compliance and institutional awarding strategies which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensuring compliance with Federal and State laws.
· Prepares, reviews, interprets, and analyzes a variety of complex and multi-faceted information, data, forms, schedules, calendars, surveys, reports, and other communications; makes recommendations based on findings, conducts research, needs assessments and financial aid fiscal calendars.
· Provides interpretation of laws and/or regulations effecting financial aid management or reporting of sponsored awards.
· Manages the fiscal management of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs which includes maintaining cash management rules and regulated procedures, reconciliation, accounting paperwork, and year-end close outs.
· Coordinates the Work Study program; work may involve working with campus career service personnel, processing applications, determining awards, maintaining records, monitoring progress, and performing public relations.
· Assists with the annual financial aid cluster of the Single Audit by preparing, collecting, and clarifying requested documentation. Other tasks may include meeting one-on-one with the
auditors and respond to their request, researching discrepancies, and initiating corrective actions to ensure compliance to remain eligible to receive and administer financial aid funds.
· Seeks and manages collaborative efforts with business and industry, community agencies, community organizations, educational institutions, internal departments, and/or other interested parties to provide specific and general information, resolve complex issues, establish partnerships, and facilitate departmental operations.
· Incumbent may assume responsibility for the Office of Financial Aid in the absence of the AVC of Student Financial Services.

Physical Requirements

Positions in this class typically require: feeling, grasping, hearing, fingering, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.

Incumbents may be exposed to environmental conditions, such as, challenging behaviors, imminent danger, and threatening environments.
