Position Summary

Trinity College seeks a performing arts Production Manager who demonstrates experience managing and supporting the production season for diverse academic and regional audiences. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Austin Arts Center, the Production Manager coordinates and executes the production schedule, facilities, and equipment necessary for the production activity of Trinity College’s Music and Theater & Dance Departments, as well as guest artist programming in and about the Austin Arts Center and other related spaces.

Core responsibilities include oversight of production budgets, purchasing, maintenance and scheduling correlating with all facets of the performing arts and arts facilities. In addition, the Production Manager provides support, in coordination with the Technical Director, for the training and supervision of students involved in stage management and crew for theatrical, musical and artistic events/performances including electrics, sound, video, as well as in coordination with the Costume Shop Manager and related student wardrobe crew.

Candidates should be proficient with theatrical software, knowledgeable and experienced with theater practice, safety protocols, equipment, and systems. Expertise as Master Electrician and Lighting Design is especially welcome, as the Production Manager will serve as lead in areas of theatrical production, including teaching a related course every other year and designing for at least one major production in the annual calendar.

Qualifications

MFA in theatrical design discipline (preferred), BA (required) with minimum five years professional experience in production management (or comparable experience).
