Job Description:

SUNY Orange is seeking a Director for the Center for Student Success (CSS) to join the Learning and Student Success (LSS) Division. 

The Director for the Center for Student Success will oversee all academic support services at both the Middletown and Newburgh campuses, as well as, foster an understanding of academic support services and student success initiatives to college constituents. The CSS Director will create and ensure a welcoming and inclusive student learning environment through daily center operations, staff and tutor orientation programs, and strategic partnerships across college departments and divisions to support student success. The CSS Director will work closely with the PROSPERAR Title V grant Program Director, Faculty and the Student Services Division to deliver support services utilizing early intervention software (Starfish) to connect with students. Additionally, the CSS Director will partner with the PROSPERAR Title V grant Program Director to facilitate the First-Year Experience course and activities. 


Requirements:

Education Required: Master's degree from an accredited college.

Experience Required: Demonstrated supervisory experience in an academic support department, preferably at a community college. Strong project management skills evidenced through implementation of student support and success initiatives deployed in a higher education setting. Demonstrated effective communication with all college constituents including students, tutors, faculty, staff and administration.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

  • Experience with Starfish or early intervention software.
  • College teaching experience.
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all college employees and the public.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
  • Bilingual Skills.

This is a 12 month, Staff & Chair, grade 60 position.
