Job Description

This position is responsible for managing the cash handling and collection functions within the Cashiers Office. Works closely with the Director to set goals and provide strategic direction regarding departmental billing & collection of outstanding student receivables. Establishes and manages vendor relationships and oversees the creation, development, and deployment of hands-on employee training. Provides supervisory guidance to full-time positions. Coaches staff to achieve high performance and investigates and resolves personnel and disciplinary problems. Ensures training and resources are provided to staff. Resolves complex customer inquiries, complaints, and litigation. Responds to escalated written or telephone inquiries and complaints. Reviews policy/procedural changes and collaborates with the Cashiers management team to make recommendations for changes as needed. Provides clear communication and updates to internal and external customers when service issues arise. Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and University regulations and requirements concerning the administration and collection of delinquent Accounts Receivable and Student Loans. Stays current with collection best practices.

Salary

$70,000 - $85,000/year

Grade: GGS 11

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of Higher Education experience, preferably working in a Finance setting at a large public university specifically focusing on cash handling activities or accounts receivable collections. Previous experience with process improvement initiatives, process mapping, reconciling high volume accounts and working with Tableau, Cognos, and creating queries in PeopleSoft Finance is a plus.
