Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator/Associate Administrative Assistant is a joint position that reports to the Chairperson of the Department of Math and Computer Science in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. This role is responsible for department support including administrative and program support. He/she will maintain departmental budget files and expenditures; record, transcribe, check and proofread complex and technical dictation; prepares correspondence, memorandums, meeting agenda and minutes, manuscripts, contracts, proposals, technical and administrative reports; and composes routine letters and articles. The Associate Administrative Assistant will serve as receptionist, maintain schedule of classes, and prepare interoffice forms, requisitions, vouchers, and payroll activity reports. Additionally, this person will support department projects and programs. He/she will schedule program work, oversee daily operations and coordinate department activities. He/she will perform any other duties within the scope of the position.

Qualifications

Qualifications

The candidate must have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, administration, or related field. Two years experience managing programs/projects. Experience working with students in higher education. Two years of secretarial/clerical experience is preferable. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable of office practices and procedures, proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have knowledge of other automated systems. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the general public in disseminating and obtaining information; completing assigned tasks; developing and managing a record-keeping system; and communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
