Dir of Training Programs & Strategic Business Development



Position Summary:

Apply for the University of Dayton School of Law's Director of Training Programs and Strategic Business Development. We are a diverse community of students, staff and faculty at a Catholic, Marianist research University in search of a candidate to provide management of growth opportunities in non-JD education and training programs. This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

The Director of Training Programs and Strategic Business Development will oversee the Government Contracting Program and be primarily responsible for developing and implementing a plan to establish significant revenue generating Law School programs and other projects at the discretion of the Dean. The Director will work closely with Law School faculty and staff and University wide administrators as well as external partners. The Director will report to the Dean of the School of Law and will be part of the Dean's Senior Leadership Team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.
Five years of business development experience in government, law, or academia.
Successful experience in strategic planning initiatives.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Effective presentation skills.
Effective analytical and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
Successful experience conceptualizing, developing and implementing programs.
A history of financial success launching new business or programmatic initiatives.
Experience in contracting at Wright Patterson Air Force Base specifically or more generally with a government entity and/or a government contractor.
Demonstrated success in planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects under stringent deadlines.
Willingness to engage in and demonstrated success from networking with business and legal professionals.
Experience leading teams and inspiring confidence and dedication among team members.
Knowledge and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist educational values.
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel.
