Position Summary:
The position performs duties in the areas of care, prevention, and rehabilitation of athletic related injuries to students participating in one of 16 intercollegiate athletic programs. It also provides consultation to these athletes on all health issues and annual physical testing. The position provides instruction and learning opportunities for student and graduate athletic training students. It also supervises numerous student workers, full time Assistant Athletic Trainer(s), Graduate/Intern Athletic Trainers and numerous athletic training students. This position serves as a member of the Student-Athlete Health and Performance Team, that assists department leadership in the organization, management and administration of the Athletic Department consistent with NCAA, Big Sky Conference and all governing athletic rules, university rules and policies and the mission of the University of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training

• 3 years’ experience as an Athletic Trainer at the NCAA Division I level

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Athletic Training
• A Health Care delivery philosophy consistent with Team Physicians and other medical providers
• Previous leadership and management experience
• Experience in both NCAA and institutional substance abuse testing/rehabilitation
• History with managing Mental Health crisis and programming
