Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics/Data Science

Southern Arkansas University invites applications for several tenure track positions of Assistant, and/or Associate Professor of Mathematics, within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, of the fastest growing departments in the college. Duties: Teaching responsibilities will include the teaching of freshmen to upper-level undergraduate Mathematics and Statistics courses. Other assignments will include teaching in the applicant’s area of expertise (all fields of Mathematics are welcome); supervising undergraduate research projects; serving on committees; performing scholarly activity; engaging in recruitment, retention, and advising of students and students club and other duties assigned.

Qualifications:  Doctoral degree in Mathematics is required by time of employment. Doctoral degrees in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science are also welcome. The candidate should have expertise in Mathematics and demonstrate an ability to teach undergraduate students; excellent communication skills, ability to work well with people, and a strong desire to interact with students both in the classroom and undergraduate research projects.
