Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Director, Baker Center for Excellence (Temporary, Funded) position. The Director, Baker Center for Excellence is responsible for leadership, implementation, and oversight of the operations of The Baker Center for Excellence of Employee Ownership and Business Transformation. The Director will work closely with executives, professionals, and employers as well as engage with partner institutions, instructors, and students to bolster the employer-employee dynamic in new ways. Travel required to all College campuses and to external organizations and agencies to promote The Center.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Management, Economics, or related field preferred. Higher Education leadership or management experience within a program or center preferred Successful track record with at least five years of work experience in senior leadership in business, education, or non-profit Financial management experience preferred Public speaking and event organization experience Experience in funding development and community outreach Experience as an entrepreneur preferred Previous leadership in an ESOP company preferred

 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrated administrative, entrepreneurial, and organizational skills.  Knowledge of and ability to communicate the benefits of employer-employee partnerships to stakeholders Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to work well with Administration, Faculty, Students, Staff, Board, Benefactor(s), external Business Community, and other stakeholders Creative problem-solving skills Demonstrated team building and leadership skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete projects in a fast-paced environment Solid knowledge and skills with Microsoft® Office and other computer software Create and conduct effective presentations Proficiency with Internet to use as resource, research, and communication tool Speak effectively to both large and small groups of people – live, recorded, remote Embrace and advocate the Center’s and College’s respective mission, vision, and strategic plan Relationship building capability/Networking with external stakeholders
