Manager, Student Affairs Communication Programs

Job Description Summary:

This role involves overseeing districtwide communication projects and programs for student affairs units across the district. Responsibilities include initiating, monitoring, and ensuring the successful implementation of projects, evaluating their outcomes, and maintaining consistent communication with project stakeholders, including student affairs leadership and internal/external parties. Strong organizational and project oversight and problem-solving skills are essential for this position. Additionally, the program manager will actively collaborate with student affairs departments and other college divisions, utilizing technical, analytical, facilitative, and team-building skills. Individual initiative and excellent communication abilities are also required.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

1) Manages, coordinates, implements, evaluates and ensures timely completion of broad scale communication programs, projects, and ad hoc assignments within Student Affairs in accordance with its mission and goals.
2) Monitors and manages project launch and quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable, within budget, and fulfill the terms of the project.
3) Works directly with the Director, Student Affairs Communication and Sr. Student Affairs leadership to provide robust programmatic oversight through changes management strategy and principles of project management.
4) Ensures key project timelines and deadlines are met with Student Affairs leadership and internal and external stakeholders and processes adopt a spirit of shared governance within program management.
5) Works within Student Affairs to collaborate with instruction and other operational units to ensure successful communication and project oversight.
6) Works with internal communications, marketing, and graphics teams to generate and follow through on innovative ideas and strategies for web communications channels and in-person events
7) Ensures deadlines are met and processes adopt a spirit of shared governance within program management.
8) Coordinates the development of assigned communication program budgets, schedules, work plans, resource requirements, cost estimates, and projections.
9) Develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of communication programs, proposals, and other pertinent information related to assignments.
10) Compiles and distributes program status reports, project budget expenditures, and other project information as needed.
11) Identifies communication risks and opportunities and develops recommendations for continuous improvement.
12) Coordinates presentation of teleconferences and webinars in conjunction with the Director, of Student Affairs Communication.
13) Ensures relevant standards, processes, and regulations are upheld.

14) Responds to communication-related issues in a timely manner

15) Establishes and oversees metrics that show the impact of project communications to guide continual improvement of content, systems, quality, consistency, and timeliness
16) Undertakes other duties as assigned to support project communications

Knowledge of Student Affairs software -- i.e. Civitas Suite, Maxient, Ellucian-Colleague.

Required Work Experience
* Two years of related work experience.

Preferred Experience

* Supervisory experience or 1 year of ACC Supervisory Certificate Program.

Required Education
* Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education
* Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, communications, or a related field.

Other Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with project and/or program management and/or student affairs.

Physical Requirements
* Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment.
* Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
* Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Salary Range

$65,260 - $81,575
