We are seeking an assistant professor to join our dynamic and inclusive department for the 2023-2024 academic year, with a start date in August 2023. This position has a focus primarily on teaching and service, and candidates must have earned a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering or closely related discipline. Exceptional candidates with Master’s degrees may also be considered at the instructor level.

We seek creative individuals, who are eager to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, capable of developing and teaching outstanding courses and contributing to a climate that attracts and affirms students from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities will include the teaching of design classes, as well as BME core classes and technical electives (e.g., biological transport phenomena, cell engineering, or devices and circuits), with a minimum teaching load of 2 classes per semester. Changes in the teaching load are possible depending on the interests and availability of the successful candidate(s). Please direct questions, but not application materials, to Dr. Kristi Kiick (kiick@udel.edu).

Application Process: Applicants should submit: (1) a current curriculum vita; (2) a detailed cover letter summarizing their interest and qualifications; (3) a teaching statement; (4) contact information for three references (references will not be contacted prior to notifying the candidate). Candidates should ensure that their materials address the qualifications stated in the above. Applications must be received by June 15, 2023 to receive priority consideration, although the search will remain open until the position is filled.
