Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, or related field.
  • At least five years professional experience leading marketing or communication programs
  • Proven ability to complete multiple time-sensitive communication and marketing activities simultaneously
  • Proven content writing, copywriting, and visual storytelling experience
  • Experience supervising marketing and communication staff
  • Experience working in a collaborative organizational structure
  • Experience managing reports, website, and social media content production for a professional organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in communication, marketing, or related field
  • Professional experience working in a health related or academic organization
Job Description

Lead marketing and communication activities for a multi-disciplinary health and resilience research center working with community partners and the public.

Job Duties
  • Develops and executes a communications plan for THRC
  • Maintains university and THRC branding guidelines
  • Manages any subcontracts for communications-related activities,
  • Coordinates/drafts media strategies related to urgent/timely events in partnership with university and community stakeholders
  • Develops communication materials, presentations, and reports for university and public audiences.
  • Manages comprehensive and timely THRC marketing and communication schedules and plans
  • Leads content creation and writing for a variety of newsletters, reports, online and social media channels. and other THRC media products (internal and external)
  • Performs regular media scans to document THRC and Texas State research coverage across media channels
  • Other duties as assigned
