Position Description:
The University of Washington (UW) is recruiting for a full-time Research Assistant Professor (non-tenure eligible) in the Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, with research site located at the VA Puget Sound Health Care Center. The successful candidate will conduct funded research focused on human genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to identify genetic risk factors of Alzheimer’s disease in C. elegans model of tauopathy.

Research Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1–June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July–June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Anticipated start date would be August 2023.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

The base salary range for this position at the research assistant professor rank will be: $7500–$9167 per month ($90,000–$110,004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications:
Requirements include a PhD (or foreign equivalent) in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology or a related field, and completion of a minimum of 48 months of post-doctoral research training.
