Biology: Associate Professor, Appointment-Stream, beginning Fall 2023
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is currently seeking an Associate Professor of Biology, appointment stream, in the Division of Biological & Health Sciences, beginning Fall 2023. Pitt-Bradford is a regional campus of the University of Pittsburgh located in scenic Northwestern PA. It is a beautiful, friendly campus with an emphasis on teaching. While faculty have the advantage of expansive resources and research opportunities available through the University of Pittsburgh system, they also enjoy one-on-one contact with their students in a secure, personalized environment.
Requirements: Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field, with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates. This is an appointment stream (non-tenured) position. To be considered for the rank of associate professor, candidates must excel at teaching and service and be very good in professional development. Candidates must have at least six years of full-time teaching experience at the collegiate level. Candidates experienced working with college students from diverse backgrounds and applied experience in the field of expertise are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities: Applicants must be able to teach 12 credits per semester, in Biology, at the undergraduate level, while performing university service and maintaining professional development. Experience in genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology and/or physiology preferred. Course assignments will include introductory and general education lectures and/or labs in addition to upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
