Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the Director of Athletics and his/her designee, the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator is to design, organize, implement, facilitate, oversee and evaluate all facets of the Athletic Strength and Conditioning Program. It is the responsibility of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator to inform and educate Athletic Department personnel, student-athletes and support staff regarding all policies and procedures integral to strength and conditioning. It is the responsibility of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator to ensure they have collaborated with the Sports Medicine Staff to thoroughly design a coverage plan and emergency medical procedures for on and off-season conditioning and lifting.

Qualifications

Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) or a comparable nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification (i.e. CSCCa, SCCC).
A minimum of two years of experience, preferably in a college setting working directly with student-athletes or comparable experience/ education.
A valid driver’s license, CPR and First Aid and AED for the Professional Rescuer certification are required.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in sports, or a related field. Must demonstrate, intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and word. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds is an essential skill. Must be able to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. Familiarity with NCAA Compliance Assistant, Front Rush, or related system is preferred.

  • Three years’ experience working with college age athletes from a strength and conditioning perspective.
Three years’ experience with NCAA and CIAA policies.
