Administers one or more functions in Enrollment Services, which includes customer service and integrated delivery service systems, including customer service and integrated delivery systems.

  1. Develop, plan and implement department initiatives for customer service and enrollment services missions and goals.
  2. Oversee the day to day operations of one or more centers within the department; recommend, implement, and administer methods and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  3. Foster and manage relationships with campus partners, academic colleges and local community to promote UH enrollment.
  4. Direct activities and supervise professional and support staff; sets priorities and assign duties for special projects.
  5. Lead the development, analysis and reporting of student learning outcomes and related activities to support planning initiatives.
  6. Address student enrollment issues by offering solutions through the use of academic; financial and campus resource. Alerts the Executive Director, IES of systemic concerns for resolution.
  7. In absence of the Executive Director, IES, provide leadership to the unit and represents on college committees, and at university meeting, state events and national conferences.
  8. Performs other job-related duties as required

Additional Job Posting Information:

The Associate Director oversees the day-to-day service operations of the University of Houston Welcome Center. This facility is open year round and is home to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Scholarships & Financial Aid, Student Business Services and the Office of the University Registrar. Additionally the position liaisons with our departments in our Enrollment Services Call Center and virtual appointment space. This position also works closely with the Executive Director to triage and resolve escalated enrollment issues while balancing university policy and procedures alongside an empathetic approach grounded in customer service. Finally, this position supervises the Check-in Desk at the Welcome Center and directly supervises two professional staff positions along with a team of student workers.

Qualifications :

Masters and 5 years experience

Requires application of advance principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a formal, directly job-related Master's degree or an equivalent in-depth formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Preferred qualifications:
  • A Master’s degree in educational administration, higher education, student affairs or similar field
  • Experience in Enrollment Services (financial aid, admissions, registrar, etc)
