Woosong University is expanding our existing departments and programs, as well as launching new departments and programs. As such, there are numerous Assistant Professor positions available.

Full-time Assistant Professor of Finance or Accounting

Woosong University’s Endicott College of International Studies invites applications for two (2) full-time Assistant Professors of Global Management, one (1) in Finance and one (1) in Accounting, to begin during the Fall 2023 semester.

Remuneration and Benefits:

Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

In addition to your salary, you will receive:

  • housing (upon availability) 
  • flight reimbursement (for applicants coming to Korea from abroad)
  • applicants coming to Korea from abroad will also receive a settlement allowance of 100,000 won per day that they arrive before their start date, up to a maximum of 15 days  
  • 4 weeks (20 working days) of paid vacation each year.
  • Basic health insurance through the national health insurance plan
  • Membership in the private Korea Teachers Pension (monthly contribution: approximately 9% of your salary
  • Opportunities for financial compensation for publishing in recognized peer-reviewed journals

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates for the Finance position will have:

  • A Ph.D. with a major in Finance or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching experience at undergraduate and/or graduate level

Qualified candidates for the Accounting position will have:

 

  • A Ph.D. with a major in Accounting or a related field

Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching experience at undergraduate and/or graduate level

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • Strong commitment to teaching, both face-to-face and online, including experience in a variety of teaching and assessment techniques (especially using technology) that enhance the student’s learning and success;
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational software’s;
  • Adequate experience in supervising student projects and thesis/dissertations;
  • Outstanding research and publication records in top journals (SSCI/ABDC/ AJG/ABS/Q1) would be an advantage;
  • Record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research to be preferred;
  • Ability to work well as a member of an international, multi-cultural team; and
  • Excellent record in community service and scholarly activities.

Core teaching responsibilities:

Successful candidates for the Finance position will teach courses including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Principles of Finance, Behavioral Finance, International Finance

Successful candidates for the Accounting position will teach courses including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Introduction to Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Managerial Accounting

Teaching assignments are made based upon the department’s needs and are not limited to the above.

Department description:

The Department of Global Management educates graduates who understand global business and management through practical training courses such as international management and international relations, while also developing basic competencies to understand programming languages in preparation for the era of the 4th industrial revolution; in order to develop job competitiveness at graduation. Students also gain a variety of hard and soft skills to apply their newly acquired knowledge in all areas of global management.

To cultivate experts in the New Southern Region, which is emerging as a new growth engine for the world economy, we provide practical training courses to give students a sense of what it's like in the field; such as ASEAN business practices, international relations, and business practices curriculums developed with local mid-sized companies.

Required major and liberal arts lectures in IT specialization → Understanding programming languages and securing certifications

Second Foreign Language Track (starting in 2nd year) → Strengthen international competency by learning a second foreign language (Chinese, French, or Vietnamese)

Entrepreneurship special education courses available (starting in 3rd year) → 1:1 mentoring by professors specializing in business start-ups, development of start-up ideas, and a one-year intensive program to experience a start-up from the CEO's standpoint
