Woosong University is seeking applicants to fill the position of International Relations Manager as non-tenure track, full-time assistant professor starting September 1st, 2023. This appointment is renewable based on your performance and the university’s needs.

Minimum Qualifications: 

A Master’s degree and at least three to five years of work experience in a corporate or educational setting involved in the International Relations (IR). Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are required. A desire to remain in a career within higher education administration is an asset. The ability to participate effectively in an English language work environment is essential. 

(IR Task) Conducting research and fostering collaborations with potential overseas partners (Universities, institutions, corporate, etc.) aligning with strategic directions and coordinating network bodies. Initiating contact with strategic partners, engaging in cooperative discussions, and managing partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher
  • Three to five years of previous work experience in a corporate or educational setting
  • Deep understanding of North American culture, life style, and education system
  • Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to work in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment
  • Able to understand and work effectively within the Korean corporate culture
  • Ability to communicate in Korean is desirable
  • Capable of presenting ideas in public and engage an audience
  • Advanced level of competency in English
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills to build and maintain strong relationship
  • Interested in pursuing a career in higher education administration and/or the corporate world.

The following describes the duties expected of an International Relations Manager:

  • Lead and manage internet and other research on institutions and prospective consultants to gather additional information, enabling informed decisions regarding the feasibility and effectiveness of networking efforts
  • Contact overseas partners, educational organizations and embassy officials
  • Establish a strong educational network worldwide
  • Develop and maintain networks with partner universities
  • Communicate effectively when dealing with people of diverse interest and levels of authority
  • Maintain database of all enquiries, research countries and cities for prospective institutional cooperation
  • Public relations, partnership building and management
  • Develop more opportunities in untapped regions, with a focus on North and Latin American countries 

Teaching first- and second- year classes in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as elective courses in our General English Language Program, and/or advanced English skills classes in our Global Business Communication Skills (GBCS) program

Other teaching opportunities, depending upon your qualifications

In addition to your salary, you will receive:

  • housing (upon availability)
  • up to 500,000 won partial flight reimbursement bonus (for applicants coming to Korea from abroad)
  • applicants coming to Korea from abroad will also receive a settlement allowance of 40,000 won per day that they arrive before their start date, up to a maximum of 7 days
  • Six weeks (30 working days) of paid vacation each year.
  • Basic health insurance through the national health insurance plan
  • Membership in the private Korea Teachers Pension (monthly contribution: approximately 9% of your salary)
  • Opportunities for financial compensation for publishing in recognized peer-reviewed journals
