POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Research, Registration, & Records and the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Associate Director is responsible for supporting the Vice President of Academic Affairs by completing reports, analyzing data, drafting briefs and other documents, and filing final reports to pertinent agencies in a timely, independent, and effective manner.  This includes, but is not limited to, analyzing and authoring descriptive, analytic, and evaluative reports for various publications—internal and external—according to established criteria.  Also, supporting institutional research and providing quantitative and qualitative analytical support to the Office of Research, Registration, & Records and to the Vice President of Academic Affairs with the goal of continuous quality improvement to the overall student experience and academic environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Coordinate annual budgets for departments under Academic and Institutional Affairs, monitor monthly expenditures, analyze financial reports, and recommend solutions to improve business processes.
  • Primary liaison between academic departments and constituent offices as it pertains to academic policies and procedures, course scheduling, and course creation.
  • Strategically adapt and implement academic best practices to further both the student and faculty experience 
  • In coordination with Institutional Research, prepare required internal, local, state, and federal reports in a timely, accurate manner using Erikson’s student administrative software, Jenzabar (via SQL), while communicating with other internal constituents to ensure uniformity of required system reports.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute Erikson’s primary accreditation process with the Higher Learning Commission, as well as co-leading and effectively managing area-specific accreditations alongside program directors. Area-specific re-accreditation processes include CSWE, AAQEP and ACLP.
  • Ensure that Erikson remains in compliance with area-specific, state, and federal reporting bodies. 
  • Perform periodic review of written procedures and updates as necessary to maintain a current, complete IR reference manual, including the maintenance of an institutional research calendar to ensure that cyclical project timelines are met.
  • Provide outreach, collaboration, and support to individual faculty, faculty committees, and Erikson’s leadership, in their efforts to evaluate and report on course and program quality and meet accreditation standards.
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Faculty and the Director of Research, Registration, and Records, support periodic academic program reviews of all academic departments at Erikson.
  • Explore ways for academic departments to work synergistically to provide complementary academic programs and processes that enhance graduate education
  • Engage in ongoing strategic thinking, analyzing situations to come up with solutions to problems in the organization as these pertain to Academic Affairs, Institutional Reporting, Accreditation, Compliance and Assessment. Develop effective methods of      data visualization.
  • Participates in professional development activities, campus meetings (in-person and virtual), and serves on cross-functional teams as required.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring a system of internal and external academic communications.
  • Develop risk-benefit analyses and make data-based recommendations.
  • Organizing, taking minutes, and reporting on Academic Affairs meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of ongoing operations of all academic programs to advance the academic mission and student experience at Erikson.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified candidates will hold a Master's degree in a relevant area of study plus 3+ years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration across diverse groups of constituents, including faculty, staff, and other external partners. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including presenting results of data analysis to a variety of constituencies. Have a strong proven knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Have demonstrated experience of goal setting, prioritization, data-based decision making, and effective project management.
