Job Description
The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Kinesiology with an emphasis in teaching/pedagogy in Physical Education. Rank will be determined upon qualifications. Primary teaching responsibilities may include but are not limited to undergraduate courses in Special Populations/Adapted Physical Education, Motor Development, Elementary and Secondary Physical Education Methods, and Foundations of Kinesiology. Graduate-level teaching is also a possibility. This is a full-time, 9-month appointment that will require teaching, scholarly activity and grantsmanship, service, and student mentoring/advisement.
Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in Kinesiology or related field or a
terminal degree in Education, with at least a master's degree in
Kinesiology. Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be
conferred at the time of appointment.
- Minimum two years of K-12 public school physical education
instruction
- Experience and/or willingness to utilize technological advances
in course delivery (e.g. Blackboard)
- knowledge or experience with culturally diverse
learners.
Preference Qualifications:
- 5+ years of K-12 public school physical education
instruction
- public school PE administration/oversight
- 3+ years of teaching experience at the college/university
level
- current membership in appropriate professional
organizations
