About the Opportunity

A one-year (extension possible) postdoctoral research associate position is available at the Institute for Experiential Robotics at Northeastern University (Boston, MA). The postdoctoral research associate will work in the Programmable and Reconfigurable Soft Engineered Systems (PARSES) Lab led by Prof. Kris Dorsey. https://parses.sites.northeastern.edu/

Qualifications:

- PhD Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field

- Documented expertise in soft materials fabrication approaches (or closely related): e.g., casting, additive manufacturing, micro/nano fabrication

- Experience with Python programming

- Experience with benchtop electrical circuit measurements and troubleshooting, microcontroller programming

- The ability to organize, report, and publish research findings and project data in English

- A track record of publications in sensors or robotics conferences and journals

Additional skills that successful candidates will demonstrate in some combination include: knowledge of finite element analysis, topology optimization approaches, controls, mechanical design and computer aided design software, and tactile/force/mechanical sensor design and fabrication
