Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Information Technology Services meets the informational needs of the university community through the provision of a variety of programs and services. ITS is responsible for providing all centrally supported academic and administrative computing to the campus. This is facilitated through specialized committees and groups, strategic partnerships with vendors and various state agencies, as well as through the establishment of formal goals and objectives tied to the strategic mission of the university.

The Office of Resource Management effectively and efficiently manages the fiscal and human resources to meet the goals of the unit and the mission of the university in accordance with state and university policies and procedures. IT Resource Management provides assistance to the IT unit in the areas of budget, software license compliance, purchasing, travel, HR, fixed assets, contracts, and billing and to the campus for computer inventory, cellular support, and communication billing services.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

Processing requests to purchase equipment, supplies, software, hardware, licenses, and maintenance agreements using the Banner finance and Ushop systems. Maneuver through Ushop and Banner forms and interpret financial data to determine the status of budget availability, outstanding commitments, purchase order/receiving/payment status, and details of expenditures and journal entries. Interpret technical orders to determine appropriate account codes and prioritize orders and tracking to ensure the procurement of mission-critical operating system equipment. Track software license renewal dates to ensure compliance with licensing terms. Process travel authorizations, reimbursements, and prepayments using the online travel system. Process orders using the university PACS card. Process interdepartmental invoices and external accounts receivable invoices. Process check requests and petty cash reimbursements. Process HR online payments for student employees, temporary employees, and grad students.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Graduation from high school and one year of related office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Diplomas or degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

The preferred education for this position is a two-year accounting degree.
