Job Summary:

The Assistant Sports Information Director reports to the Sports Information Director, and is responsible for providing assistance in the development and administration of all athletic communications and media relations for the University’s Division III intercollegiate athletic program in accordance with all NCAA and Middle Atlantic Conference regulations. The Assistant Sports Information Director will assist the Director in providing public relation efforts of a comprehensive NCAA Division III athletics program with 24 varsity sports. The office publicizes and promotes the athletics program to local, regional, and national audiences. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting with the management of all FDU home intercollegiate contests and sports hosting events throughout the year.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in journalism, communications, English, public relations, sports administration/management or related field.
2. A minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience required in an athletic media and communications department either as a student and/or professional.
3. Proficiency required with InDesign, PhotoShop, StatCrew software suites, web content management software, and social media platforms, as well as a background in publication design, news writing and athletic scheduling.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
5. Familiarity with NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics.
6. Must be available to work non-standard hours as required including evenings, weekends and some holidays.
7. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
