The University of Puget Sound is hiring an Assistant Director for Financial Aid Counseling to join our Student Financial Services Team!

The Assistant Director provides the highest level of customer service as they manage a financial aid caseload of prospective and enrolled undergraduate and graduate students at Puget Sound. The Assistant Director determines need-based financial aid packages, reviews and responds to Special Circumstance appeals, employs professional judgment in determining eligibility for university, federal and state aid programs, ensures compliance with applicable State and Federal rules and regulations and participates in overall state and federal aid program management.

• Regular
• Full-time, (1.0 FTE)
• Standard university business hours of 8am - 5 pm Monday through Friday.

-Positions that work less than .75 FTE (1,560 hours per year) do not qualify for long-term disability or education benefits.
-Positions that work less than .50 FTE (1,040 hours per year) will accrue paid sick leave but are not eligible for additional benefits.
-Temporary positions that work at least .50 FTE (1,040 hours per year) will be eligible for benefits after 6 months of continuous employment.

To be considered for this role, a candidate must:

• Hold a Bachelors degree and have a minimum of three years experience student services in a college or university setting
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of FSA Title IV Federal Regulations and experience in financial aid counseling
• Have familiarity and proficiency with technologies to include integrated student information systems, MS Office and Google Workspace. Experience with PeopleSoft Campus highly desirable.
• Respectfully work, communicate, and provide leadership within a diverse campus community.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The pay range for this position is $25.96 to $27.40 per hour. Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
• This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
