Salary Range is used to calculate promotional calculations for applicants who are current NJ state employees with underlying classified status if selected.

Position Summary:

The Client Service Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for in-office customers, assisting students, parents, and faculty/staff members with questions and requests regarding to payment plans, billing, financial aid, parking, and ID card services, Get It accounts, access, and meal plans. This position is responsible for answering any phone calls or emails which may address these topics. Additionally, this position serves as a cashier for all departments on campus.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assisting customers via phone, email, in-person, and teleconference.
  • Oversee the Card Service program including the management of our ID card system, replacing ID cards, producing new ID cards, Get-it transactions including Transact interactions, summer carding program, inventorying, as well as all other card service related functions.
  • Front facing cashiering - including posting of payments received in the office, both in person and via mail, review and process departmental receipts and other cashiering related duties.
  • Assist with two other critical office responsibilities including Parking Services and payment plan support such as issuing of parking decals, temporary permits, and payment plan guidance.
  • Assist with college related events that Student Accounts participates in such as Accepted Students Day, Orientations, and move in days.
  • Resolving issues/questions that arise by completing comprehensive research and review in order to provide an accurate and timely response.
  • Prepare receipts for payment to vendors relating to Card Services supplies.
  • Preparing student statements as requested.
  • Oversight and coordinating of Card Service functions for college events like Transfer and First Year Student Orientation and Graduate Orientations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited higher education institution or year-for-year work experience substitute.
  • Experience with automated accounting and cashiering systems.
  • Thorough understanding of integrated student systems.
  • Customer service experience with strong organizational stills, strong multi-tasking experience, and a moderate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong work related cashiering experience in a high volume area.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, Blackboard/Transact, and Boss Cars is highly desired.
