Job Description

The School of Medicine and the Department of Child Health are pleased to announce the opening of a Student Support Specialist II position. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department’s mission and goals for our residency programs.

Detailed Description:

Leads a program or section within the resident support system. Provides technical and clerical services to residents, including:

•Assist education manager and program directors with numerous activities such as orientation, various recruitment activities, licensure, accreditation maintenance, i.e., annual reports, site visits, etc.
•Oversee resident evaluation system, maintain records of residents training, assist Chief Resident with schedules and updates.
•Oversee AAP memberships, assist in training residents in the use of the Individualized Learning Plans thru Pedalink.
•Complete various affiliation agreements for outside rotations and provide information as requested to other departments and external organizations.
•Handle patient Faxes and phone calls from pharmacies.
•Assist in website updates for both pediatric and Med-Peds residency programs.
• Provide clerical support to the program directors.
•Assist with the scheduling of the conference rooms within our department to outside people.
•Back up the Student Coordinator as needed.
•Oversee resident and faculty evaluations through New Innovations.
•Prepare files for semi-annual resident evaluation meetings.
•Set up zoom meetings as needed.
•Other duties as assigned

Salary

Salary Range: $17.96-$33.18 (hourly)

Grade: GGS-008

Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. . with occasional evening or weekend mainly during recruitment season.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in Medical Education. Preferred, high attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
