    PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

    The Assistant Football Coach will work in conjunction with the head coach to fulfill the following responsibilities: coaching student-athletes, mentoring intern coaches, scouting opponents, recruiting various territories, tracking equipment, and developing alumni contacts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to analyzing performance and instructing student-athletes in offensive game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The assistant coach works under the supervision of the head football coach and Defensive Coordinator. Individuals are responsible for assisting in the comprehensive day-to-day operations of the collegiate football program. Candidates are required to excel in communication skills, punctuality, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist the Coordinator in developing game strategies.
  • Effectively teach the sport's fundamentals, position details, and strategies during preparation and practice sessions.
  • Motivate the team to become successful.
  • Plan organize and conduct all practices for the quarterback unit including daily on-field coaching and management at all practice sessions and games.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.
  • Must have a familiarity with computer systems, good oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational, management, and supervisory skills.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of college and/or professional football coaching experience with strong college recruiting experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.
  • Must have a familiarity with computer systems, good oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational, management, and supervisory skills .

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position will have no supervisory responsibility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
  • Ability to work in noise, heat, cold, odors, dirt, outdoor temperatures, snow, and difficult situations.
  • Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to exert oneself physically over sustained periods of time to complete job activities.
  • Ability to stand a minimum of 6 hours during the workday.
  • Ability to work some weekends, occasional holidays, and inclement weather.
  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry, and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to repetitively push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance while kneeling; squatting; reaching above the head; reaching the waist; reaching below the knees; and bending at the knees.
  • Ability to repetitively push and pull equipment (for example, football sleds, dummies, and pads) a minimum of 10 yards without assistance.
  • Ability to climb a ladder or scaffolding to enter/exit a press box, get to a filming location, or similar situations.
