Instructional Laboratory Coordinator


Location: Moscow

Pay Range: $21.91 per hour or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary:
Coordinate the preparation of undergraduate teaching laboratories in the Department of Biological Sciences. Provide instructional support in first-year undergraduate laboratory courses. Supervise undergraduate/graduate student teaching assistants to ensure compliance with university/department laboratory safety standards. Order supplies and maintain equipment necessary for teaching laboratory courses. Ensure and monitor safety practices in the laboratory courses. Develops guidelines and protocols for instructional lab operations. Assures quality control, maintains budgets, and operates, tests, and repairs electronic and/or scientific test equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field.



  • Experience providing support to an undergraduate laboratory course or scientific research laboratory.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate laboratory teaching experience, experience with standard testing, quality control, safety practices, and applicable laws.
  • Experience with program planning and implementation.
  • Experience working with students.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.
  • Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Research or teaching laboratory management experience including monitoring safety compliance, training personnel, and budgeting and procuring necessary supplies/equipment.
  • Experience developing and revising standard operating procedures.

  • Some situations may require work with toxic, volatile, and corrosive chemicals or carcinogenic substances;
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move 50 lbs.
